Our unique scheme actively explores ways to encourage young people, whatever their background, to see themselves as future directors of stage, screen or virtual forms of story-telling.

Over the past two years Get Directing! has pioneered projects and follow-up schemes for and with young people through partnerships with three key organisations. Exciting opportunities are opening up all the time.

national saturday club

National Saturday Club provides 13-16 year-olds across the UK the opportunity to study subjects they love, including Film & Screen. Since 2024 UK Directors have been delivering Masterclasses to National Saturday Club members following a custom-designed DCF structure. Participating Directors introduce planning and filmmaking essentials, and guide young people through the required steps to adapt one idea prompt into different screen media genres/outputs, demystifying the role of a Director in the process. These DCF Masterclasses aim to build young people's creative, critical thinking, and cooperation skills.
