Our very first Craft Debate takes place on July 1st, when Phyllida Lloyd CBE will be talking to Piers Haggard about the interplay of film and theatre techniques in her work….

principal aims of the dcf are

Relief of poverty and other acute needs among current and former directors.

Promotion of increased diversity in the directing profession in respect of class, ethnicity and gender.

Exploration of the art of direction in all media.

Promotion of the highest standards in the art and craft of directing.



Our priority is to help directors and their families through our Directors Support Scheme.



Through our Directors in Schools workshops we offer cultural support to under resourced secondary schools.
